Disneyland Attractions Closing for Holiday Transformations
At Disneyland Park, “it’s a small world” becomes “it’s a small world” Holiday each year. The dolls throughout the ride sing a medley of Jingle Bells paired with the attraction’s usual theme song as guests’ boats glide through elaborate international holiday displays, all maintaining the distinctive, adorable illustrative style of legendary Disney artist Mary Blair.

As previously announced, “it’s a small world” will close to prepare for its holiday transformation starting October 30, 2026. The final day to ride the regular version of the attraction will be October 29.
Disneyland’s refurbishment calendar now confirms that “it’s a small world” will be closed through November 12, reopening on November 13 as “it’s a small world” Holiday. Disney had mentioned the November 13 date before now, but the resort’s closures calendar now double-confirms “it’s a small world” will indeed be closed until then.
Disneyland’s holiday season will officially last through January 6, 2027, but that may or may not be relevant to “it’s a small world” Holiday. In years past, “it’s a small world” Holiday has continued for several more weeks, going through January 25 in 2026 and January 20 in 2025.

Redwood Creek Challenge Trail at Disney California Adventure has special overlays for Halloween and Christmas. On nights when the park hosts Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party, Redwood Creek becomes Villains Grove, an ethereal walkthrough attraction with special effects paying homage to classic Disney Villains. During the holiday season, Redwood Creek is home to Santa’s Holiday Visit, with seasonal games and a meet-and-greet with Santa Claus.
To deinstall Villains Grove and prepare for Santa’s Holiday Visit, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will be closed starting November 1, 2026. It will reopen on November 13.
Santa will continue to greet guests through December 24, Christmas Eve. The rest of the activities may stick around a little longer.
New this year, Santa will also greet guests inside the Toontown Trolley Barn at Disneyland Park. See all the changes for Disneyland’s 2026 holiday season.
As a reminder, Disneyland’s most famous holiday overlay, Haunted Mansion Holiday, is already in place, as it always debuts for the Halloween season and continues operating through the end of the year.
