Since 2021, Walt Disney World has only operated one water park at a time and we haven't seen both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon open at the same time in years.
This has been one of the biggest setbacks of the COVID-19 pandemic that has still remained on Walt Disney World operations. Now, we just got news that for the first time since 2019 we will see both water parks open! Keep reading for all the opening dates for both water parks.

Disney World Water Park Opening Dates
Guests can enjoy both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon from May 21 through September 7, 2025. This will be the first time since 2019 that Walt Disney World will have all their parks open at the same time.
Blizzard Beach will temporarily close to prepare for the summer between May 1 and May 20, 2025 and will reopen on May 21, 2025. Typhoon Lagoon will open as planned on May, 1 2025. Then by May 21, 2025 both water parks will be open!
Hotel Guests Enjoy Free Water Park Perk
Walt Disney World hotel guests can enjoy the water parks for free on the day of their hotel check in during 2025. With both water parks open during the summer, this makes this perk extra valuable since you can pick from both!
Or if you're feeling really ambitious, you could visit both of them on your check in day. This is a great perk to take advantage of on your arrival day.

Blizzard Beach has been celebrating its 30th anniversary through April 2025. It would be nice to see these anniversary offerings remain when the park reopens for the summer with special entertainment, food items, and family-friendly games.
Over at Typhoon Lagoon, H20 Glow After Hours will take place on select nights between May 23 and September 13, 2025. This is the most affordable after hours event at Walt Disney World this summer which will include kids tickets for only $42.50, which is half the price of the $85 adult ticket. Tickets are on sale today for Walt Disney World resort guests with tickets for the general public on sale starting April 4.
This big push to reach out to younger families could be a response to Epic Universe opening on May 22, 2025. But another reason could also just be Disney trying to pivot to make a Disney vacation more affordable for families which are constantly being talked about in the news as being “priced out” of the theme parks. Regardless of the reason, this is great news for anyone visiting this year and it's great to see one more “pre-COVID” offering return.
