New Room Renovations Starting Soon at Popular Disney World Hotel

Walt Disney World Resort has been in the process of doing room renovations at its resort hotels over the past few years. We’ve seen room renovations at many resorts, especially the All-Star resorts, which have greatly improved the value of these affordable resort hotels.

Now, Disney has their sights set on room renovations at a popular deluxe hotel. This is one of our favorite Disney resort hotels with easily one of the best room views on property. Keep reading for all the details of this upcoming room renovation and what to expect.

Animal Kingdom Lodge Room Updates Starting Soon

An update on the Walt Disney World website has shared that the rooms at Kidani Village at Animal Kingdom Lodge will be undergoing refurbishment starting October 2025 through May 2026. Once those renovations are complete, room refurbishments will begin at Jambo House from May 2026 through January 2027. All amenities will be available during these refurbishments, but guests may hear construction work.

There’s already construction taking place as Disney refurbishes the Zebra Trail terrace, which is scheduled to end in September 2025.

We do not know yet what these room updates will look like, but I imagine they will modernize the rooms quite a bit. While I do not think the rooms at Animal Kingdom Lodge are in poor shape, you can tell they are a bit “behind the times” when compared to the other Disney World deluxe resorts, especially when it comes to more updated outlets and lighting.

French Quarter

The last room refurbishment was revealed in May 2025, with over one thousand rooms renovated at the Port Orleans- French Quarter rooms.

Disney incorporated colorful fabrics and patterns all inspired by the “vibrant” spirit of New Orleans.

Portraits in the rooms featuring characters from “The Princess and the Frog” include Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Louis, and Charlotte La Bouff.

You can also see the new mosaic-style pattern above the bed, including hidden details like Tiana’s tiara and drums and trumpets.

The bathrooms were also refreshed with more storage and a more spacious counter.

Disney knocked it out of the park with these room renovations at Port Orleans- French Quarter! I am excited to see the updates at Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is one of my favorite resort hotels.
