Single Rider Queue Tested at Space Mountain
Disney World quietly tested a single rider queue at Magic Kingdom’s Space Mountain on Jan. 27, 2026. The lane was only in operation from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., but according to cast members, similar tests will be occurring throughout the week at the ride.

This test is exciting news for guests because it brings the potential for shorter wait times and more efficient boarding for the popular ride. Cast members informed guests during the test that if they were single riders they should tell the cast member working at the Lightning Lane merge point. Then, the cast member would direct them through the queue. They would then be separated into the parties of guests using the Lightning Lane.
The test only affected the Omega boarding side (the track on the right of the station), and the Alpha side operated as normal for guests in the standby line.

Single Rider Queues At Disney World
Currently, four rides at Disney World offer single rider queues: Animal Kingdom’s Expedition Everest, Hollywood Studios’ Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run and both EPCOT’s Test Track and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. Magic Kingdom currently has no single rider queues, so a potential addition at Space Mountain would be a vast improvement.
To take advantage of the single rider lanes, parties must agree to be separated. Disney requires children to be at least 7-years-old to utilize the queue, as well. For each of the single rider queues at Disney World, guests can enter the lane located at the front of the attraction, except for Expedition Everest. The single rider queue for this ride is located to the left of the Serka Zong Bazaar. There is a “single rider entrance” sign.
Although in most cases guests using the single rider queues will miss the pre-shows of the rides, if you have seen them already, it is a great way to maximize your time at the parks with shorter wait times. For Test Track single riders, you won’t be able to design your car or experience most of the interactive queue. Similarly, for Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, single riders will miss Hondo’s pre-show and most times, will not be able to choose their preferred role in the ride. Typically, this is a default Engineer role, as it is the least involved in the ride and therefore, the least popular. Again, if you have already experienced the queues and don’t mind skipping them, single rider lanes do really save time.
