A returning Walt Disney World perk is now available for select guests, and it’s something we have greatly missed since it was discontinued.
Guests staying at Disney World resort hotels soon will have access to a major convenience that takes some of the stress out of arrival day. At Mickey Visit, we report on all the latest Disney news, including the Disneyland November popcorn buckets and changes to restaurant reservations.

Disney World Testing Out Baggage Delivery
Starting November 18, guests at select Disney World resort hotels flying on domestic Southwest Airlines flights arriving at Orlando International Airport (MCO) will have the option to skip baggage claim. Disney World is expanding its luggage services, using a third-party provider called BagCheck, to deliver luggage directly to the resort for guests arriving at MCO.
This service is designed to streamline the airport-to-resort experience and help guests shift into vacation mode even faster, all before they ever set foot on property. This was one of the biggest perks of Disney’s Magical Express and Remote Airline Check-In, which was discontinued in 2020, and has been sorely missed by many Disney adults. Previously, this free transportation would take guests to and from their Disney resort hotel and also handle all their luggage so guests could skip baggage claim.

This returning perk works quite similarly to luggage arriving at resort hotels approximately four hours after arrival. So far, only select resorts are being offered this service:
- Disney’s All-Star Movies
- Disney’s All-Star Music
- Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
- Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
- Disney’s Pop Century Resort
This builds off of the existing service currently offered at Disney World, which takes care of your luggage if you are staying at these resort hotels and flying Southwest, before your departure. You could use both of these services in order to take advantage of handing off your luggage for both arriving and departing travel.
How to Use Disney Airport Luggage Transfer
To use this service, guests staying at these resorts and flying Southwest must register online starting between 30 days and 5 days before their travel via the Airport Luggage Transfer page on Disney’s website. Registration is now open, and eligible guests with travel coming up will start receiving emails. Here’s an example of the email we received for an upcoming trip:

Then, once you arrive at MCO, you skip baggage claim, and Disney will take care of delivering your luggage to your resort hotel. Remember that it can take up to four hours for your luggage to arrive, so be sure to take anything you may need before then on the plane with you.

It’s interesting how they are not including the higher end hotels. They pay a heck of a lot more for their rooms.
