This is great news, as we recently reported, with a fair bit of jealousy, on similar changes coming to Ratatouille – The Adventure at Disneyland Paris. I'm thrilled to see these changes come to Disney World's version of the ride. This announcement came without much fanfare, not even receiving a full Disney Parks Blog post, which makes me think these changes over at Walt Disney World don't require quite as much work to make happen.

Remys adventure epcot

This makes sense since there is about a seven-year gap between the version of the ride opening at Disneyland Paris and when it came to EPCOT. EPCOT's version likely doesn't require quite as much upgrading to transform it to a 2D experience, especially since it already has many larger-than-life physical set pieces in place and better screen technology.

Remys ride

To me, these have always been the most impressive moments in Remy's Ratatouille Adventure. The most immersive part of the ride is when guests come face-to-face with the larger-than-life set pieces that make you feel that you really “shrank down” to the size of a rat.

Queue Upgrades Coming to Remy's Ratatouille Adventure

Remys queue

According to the update from Disney World, the queue will receive new props and lighting enhancements that will appear over the next few months. It's hard to say exactly what these upgrades will be, as the queue at Disney World's Remy's Ratatouille Adventure already has a few similar scenes like the one above that the Disneyland Paris version doesn't have.

When Disneyland Paris decided to change Ratatouille – The Adventure, they stated it was based on months of guest surveys and feedback that were underwhelmed by the 3D aspects of the attraction. I imagine they received similar feedback at Walt Disney World and decided to make this a change for both parks. I'm glad to see Disney World make this change and make it so swiftly.

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Closing Date

Remys ride EPCOT

Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT will be closing from November 10-13, 2025, and will reopen on November 14, 2025, to transform the attraction from a 3D experience to a 2D experience that will likely mirror similar changes coming to its counterpart in Disneyland Paris.

This closure takes place just a few weeks before the holiday season starts at EPCOT with the EPCOT International Festival of the Holidays starting on November 28 and continuing through December 30, 2025. It's a wise move to make this change before this busy holiday season starts at EPCOT, which is one of the major highlights of Christmas at Walt Disney World.
