Walt Disney World and Disneyland appear to have provided further clarity for their Attraction Queue Re-Entry rules, defining clear instructions for guests who may need to suddenly leave the queue and re-enter.
This policy has been active at the Disney Parks for years, but this post points out how Disney has laid out clear instructions on how to use it. Attraction Queue Re-Entry is the option Disney directs guests to use when they no longer qualify for Disability Access Service (DAS), making this update likely to draw attention. At Mickey Visit, we report on recent Disney news like major construction milestones at Animal Kingdom, major Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge changes, and recent ride closures. Disney Adds Attraction Queue Re-Entry Rules
Disneyland and Disney World both have guidelines for Attraction Queue Re-Entry. Attraction Queue Re-Entry has been the option offered to guests with disabilities who no longer qualify for DAS since the sweeping changes limiting eligibility took place in 2024. When this service was first explained to guests, it was vague and full of strange requests, like asking guests to take a picture of where they were in line before they exited the queue.

The process itself remains the same, but the guidelines have been clarified. You can see the language from the Disney page below:
Attraction Queue Re-Entry or Meet-Up
Guests with specific needs that may arise while waiting in an attraction queue may exit the queue while the rest of their party waits in the queue. The Guest may then re-enter the queue prior to boarding the ride. A Guest may also wait outside the queue and meet up with their party before boarding the ride if needed based on the nature or condition of the queue at a particular attraction and the Guest’s specific needs. Every attraction has a defined process to support these options.
How to Use Attraction Queue Re-Entry or Meet-Up:
To leave and Re-Enter a queue…
- At the entrance of the attraction, talk with a Cast Member to learn about exit options should you need to leave the queue. HELPFUL HINT: If you already know how to exit the queue, then you don’t need to speak with a Cast Member prior – just join the queue.
- In the event your specific need requires you to leave the queue, simply exit while the remainder of your party stays in the queue. HELPFUL HINT: If you need someone to help you – they can leave with you while the remainder of your party waits in the queue.
HELPFUL HINT: If you are traveling alone or with party members who can’t be left alone in the queue, please contact Accessibility Services prior to your visit.
- When you are ready to return, go to the front of the attraction and let a Cast Member know that you are using the Attraction Queue Re-Entry accommodation and need to regroup with your party in the queue. HELPFUL HINT: You don’t need to discuss your reason for needing to leave the queue.
- The Cast Member will help you meet your group to ride together.
To Meet Up with your party that has been waiting in the queue..
- At the entrance of the attraction, the members of your party joining the queue should ask a Cast Member at what point they should let you know it’s time to join them. HELPFUL HINT: Other members of your party must join the queue, and you should make sure your party can call or text you to meet up.
- When your party lets you know that it’s time for you to join them, go to the front of the attraction and tell the Cast Member you are using the Attraction Queue Meet-Up accommodation and need to meet up with your party in the queue. HELPFUL HINT: You don’t need to discuss your reason for waiting outside the queue with the Cast Member at the attraction.
- The Cast Member will help you meet your group to ride together.
Is This Change Related to DAS?
It appears that Disney is being intentional about how to use this service, especially in light of how many guests are now being directed to Attraction Queue Re-Entry as an accessibility feature when they no longer qualify for DAS. In the language above, it is clear Disney is responding to many frequently asked questions about using this service through its “Helpful Hints,” several of which directly address common points of confusion guests have raised.
It makes sense for Disney to clarify Attraction Queue Re-Entry, particularly since it serves as the primary alternative for guests who do not qualify for DAS.
It is a positive step for Disney to clarify instructions for using Attraction Queue Re-Entry, particularly given how widely it is being recommended to guests. However, this clarification does not fully address the core issue that causes anxiety for many guests, which is the fear of being treated rudely or challenged by other guests when re-entering the queue.
Hopefully, the clarification of these rules also means that cast members at each attraction are being trained more consistently on how the process works, allowing them to better assist guests using the service. In my view, the only meaningful way to address that concern would be for a cast member to escort guests back to their place in line or for Disney to provide some form of official verification, such as a pass, that clearly signals the guest is authorized to re-enter.

This isn’t new, it was changed a while ago. It still doesn’t explain how device users are supposed to exit or the process for “Queue Reentry” for solo users or when the whole party must leave. It says to speak with DAS, however DAS doesn’t define it further.
It’s somewhat helpful, I guess, but not if you’re traveling alone or with one other person. I can’t stand for long periods, so they expect my husband to wait in the long line alone while I sit somewhere else, alone. That’s no way to spend a vacation! Am I supposed to not go to attractions or spend half my time there without my husband? It defeats the purpose of taking a vacation together.
I agree wholeheartedly.
WDW was always known for being family friendly for FAMILY VACATIONS. Thousands of dollars are spent to make vacations wonderful experiences and a magical, happy event. So I ask, how can Disney be known for being family friendly when they are expecting families to be split up, where some of the party waits in line and either a handicap, elderly, or a family member with an illness waits by themselves at a location in solitude because they are unable to wait in line. I HAVE BEEN A DISNEY FAN FOR YEARS but I find it so unfair to single out people who truly need the DAS program because of heartless liars who abuse the system. Please let everyone feel the magic and enjoy being with their family instead of these separations rules.
