Disneyland’s ride closures include some popular attractions closed in April. Many do not having confirmed reopening dates.

Two Disneyland attractions closed on March 30: the Disneyland Monorail and Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin. As of right now, neither attraction has received a reopening date. Roger Rabbit’s Car Toon Spin is a fan favorite, classic Disney-style dark ride in Mickey’s Toontown. This closure has the potential to pull crowds looking for Roger Rabbit into other attractions in Toontown. As for the Monorail, this is a popular transportation option that many guests take advantage of to get between Tomorrowland and the Downtown Disney District.

As for the extended ride closures, the one that is at the forefront of everyone’s mind is the classic Jungle Cruise. The attraction once had a clear closing and reopening schedule, but its original reopening date has come and gone, and there is still no new date for a reopening with this closure now extending into April. The Jungle Cruise closed on February 17.

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters will be closing on April 13 and currently has no set reopening date. Disney has not announced a reopening date for Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. That being said, Toy Story 5 releases in theaters on June 19, 2026. It is hard to imagine Disney not operating a major attraction themed to a flagship franchise’s new movie during the film’s release window.

Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind is still currently closed with no set reopening date. This isn’t the only attraction in Disney California Adventure with planned refurbishments, Toy Story Midway Mania! will be closing April 6 with no set reopening date. This will later be followed by Silly Symphony Swings closing on April 27 which also has no set reopening date.

Disney World Ride Closures for April 2026

Rock 'n' Roller Coaster

Two rides at Magic Kingdom have been closed since 2025 but one will reopen this April. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin has been closed since August 4, 2025, for much-needed changes. The previously fixed blasters have been replaced with handheld ones. These new blasters will also have sound effects and will vibrate once a target has been hit, improving the rider’s ability to aim at and hit the targets. Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will reopen on April 8, 2026 so this ride will only remain closed for just a portion of April.

Disney World has seen a fair number of closures extending into and past April. Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been closed since January 6, 2025, for an extensive refurbishment, which includes a new track, new ride vehicles, and a brand new Rainbow Caverns scene beside the initial lift hill. No specific reopening date has been released, but Imagineers have said to expect this fan favorite to be open again by spring 2026.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed on March 2, 2026, to become Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets. The track layout and general storyline will remain the same, but the set design and theming will be centered around the Muppets and The Electric Mayhem. This overhaul is set to open in summer 2026, with no specific date revealed yet. Read more about the potential impact on Hollywood Studios during this closure.

At EPCOT, the Palais du Cinema in the France pavilion is currently closed for refurbishment. Both of the rotating shows in this World Showcase pavilion, Impressions de France and Beauty & the Beast Sing-Along, are both currently unavailable. This no current reopening date listed and both attractions are off the schedule through May.

Typhoon Lagoon

Typhoon Lagoon closed on February 15 for its annual refurbishment and will be back in operation on May 12. In the meantime, Blizzard Beach is open for guests who would like to visit one of the waterparks at Disney World. Read more about the water park operating schedule for the summer.

Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Animal Kingdom — and all the other attractions that go along with it — closed on February 23 to make room for a new Bluey-themed experience, set to open in summer 2026.

The previous Animation Courtyard area in Hollywood Studios, is closed for its reimagining into The Walt Disney Studios which will reopen later this summer. The new area will introduce Olaf Draws!, indoor experiences inside the Magic of Disney Animation and Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!

Cinderella Castle is still undergoing its painting project to repaint the colors of the castle back to its classic blue, gray, and white color scheme. The moat around the castle has been drained to allow cranes to be brought in to reach higher sections of the castle. The cranes are being lowered or removed from view by noon each day so they don’t interfere too much with guest photos.

The Walt Disney World Railroad is currently operating under a modified route that excludes the Frontierland station with the train operating in “shuttle mode” between Main Street station and Fantasyland station. The train will remain in this “shuttle mode” for the next few years while work continues on Piston Peak, the new Cars-inspired land, and Villains Land.

Some of the resorts at Disney World will also continue to be under construction in April 2026. For instance, the Tidal Pool at Disney’s Beach Club Resort will be under construction until early May. See the full list of Disney World hotel construction and closures here.
