Disneyland Wedding Ceremony Cost Minimums

The first thing to understand is that at the Disneyland Resort, you are required to spend a certain minimum amount through Disney on things like the venue, food, beverages, cake, floral, and décor. So when you look at the pricing on the website, it’s helpful to understand that this is not a package price, but it’s really closer to a minimum spending threshold. This means that the final wedding cost could easily exceed these spending minimums, depending on the choices you make to build out your wedding.

Let’s go in order of the most expensive to the most affordable for minimum spending costs, depending on the venue. Pricing varies depending on your chosen day of the week. Lower minimums tend to apply to weekdays, and higher minimums tend to apply to weekends and holidays.

The Sleeping Beauty Castle Forecourt- Starting at $100,000

Let’s start with the most coveted wedding venue, Sleeping Beauty Castle. The pre-reception takes place in front of the King Arthur Carousel, in the Castle Courtyard. Morning ceremonies are followed by a plated-meal reception at a Disneyland Resort hotel, while evening ceremonies are followed by a dinner buffet reception at the Small World Mall. Morning ceremonies can accommodate 2 to 50 guests, in addition to the couple. Evening ceremonies can accommodate 2 to 300 guests, in addition to the couple. The castle weddings are especially expensive because you are essentially paying for private access to one of the most iconic locations in the resort. This is truly the dream, and with a hefty price tag to match!

There are four other theme park locations to choose from: Fantasy Faire Garden, Magnolia Park Gazebo, Magnolia Park Terrace, and Haunted Mansion Courtyard. Fantasy Faire Garden is a more affordable alternative than The Sleeping Beauty Castle Forecourt, with vows taking place adjacent to the castle, but it only holds a maximum of 12 guests. The other New Orleans Square locations can hold around 25-32 guests. The Haunted Mansion Courtyard is the newest addition to the Disneyland wedding venue lineup and is sure to be a popular choice.

Disneyland Resort Hotel- Starting at $15,000

The most affordable of event minimums are the ceremonies that take place at Disneyland Resort Hotel, with these options available:

  • Rose Court Garden
  • Adventure Lawn
  • Adventure Lawn Gazebo
  • Sleeping Beauty Pavilion
  • Disneyland Hotel Ballrooms

These are also the venues that offer the largest spaces, with Rose Court Garden offering enough space for 350 guests and the Disneyland Hotel Ballrooms offering space for up to 1,000 guests.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa- Starting at $15,000

Also among the most affordable of event minimums are the ceremonies that take place at the Grand Californian Hotel, with these options available:

  • Brisa Courtyard
  • Wedding Garden
  • Disney’s Grand Californian Ballrooms

The venues here also offer more space, with the ballrooms offering space for up to 500 guests.

All these Disneyland wedding venues each have their own starting price because Disney sets different minimum spend requirements depending on the location, time, and exclusive nature of the venue. This is the minimum amount you’re required to spend through Disney on elements like the venue, food, beverages, décor, and other wedding services.

Disneyland Wedding Food and Beverage Services

You have two considerations with a Disneyland wedding: meeting your event minimum and considering what other additions you might want to add. One big area of spending for any wedding, Disneyland included, is food and beverage.

For Disneyland weddings, food & beverage services can comprise any combination of pre-reception, reception, cake, and bar service. This service must meet a per-person minimum based on the event time. Here are the general costs based on per person:

  • Brunch- $165 per person
  • Lunch- $185 per person
  • Dinner- $210 per person

An additional 7.75% sales tax and applicable service charge based on venue location is added. This amount is not counted as part of the services or the event minimum total. Specialty reception venues are subject to additional fees.

For example, dinner for 50 people would be $10,500 before additional fees, which would already be close to hitting many of these venue minimums.

Disneyland Floral & Decor Options

Once you figure out your food and beverage expenses, next up is figuring out floral and decor. There are numerous floral options available, including bouquets, boutonnieres, aisle, altar, centerpieces, and more. Pricing on florals can average anywhere from $3,000–$8,000 for moderate floral/decor and reach price points of $10,000 to $20,000 for more elaborate floral designs. For the luxury castle wedding or large floral installations, you can expect to pay even more.

When it comes to décor, you can also add a range of venue décor options like ceremony enhancements, reception décor, centerpieces, furniture, themed rooms, and more. Décor upgrades can average anywhere from $2,000 to $20,000.

Disney Wedding Entertainment

And of course, there is the option to add on musical entertainment like classical musicians, live bands, and DJs. The cost of the musical entertainment can range from $1,500 for a DJ to $10,000+ for larger live bands.

Select Disney characters are also available for reception appearances, which is always a fun option to add to a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding. These character appearances depend on the character and the timing of their appearance, but are around a few thousand dollars to add on. The main showstopper is the ability to add the Crystal Cinderella Coach to arrive at your ceremony like Cinderella. This iconic experience ranges anywhere from $3,500 to $5000 to add on to your wedding.

So if you were concerned about hitting any of those previously listed venue minimums, do not worry, as Disney offers plenty of options to add lavish details to your wedding. So much of the cost of a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding comes down to the enhancements you choose to add on with floral, décor, and wedding entertainment. If you go light on those options, you could truly keep the cost of a Disney wedding at one of the resort hotels closer to that lower threshold, around $15,000. But if you opt for the more lavish options, like the ones inside the theme park, you’re looking at a much higher cost of anywhere from $25,000 to over $100,000.
