Disney Cruise Line Youth Club Open Houses

Chip n Dale Pirate Night

All of the Youth Clubs, Disney’s Oceaneer Club, Disney’s Oceaneer Lab, Edge and Vibe, all offer open houses during the cruise which is the only time that guests of all ages are welcome into the clubs. You can tour the facilities during this time, ask questions, and register your kids.

The Disney Cruise Line app will show times but you can always count on Embarkation Day to be filled with open houses as parents and kids explore offerings and sign up their kids.

The first day activities are great for kids, especially tweens and teens, to participate in as they will often offer icebreaker events so kids can get to know each other.

Youth Club Disney Cruise Registration

Vibe hallway

You can pre-register your child for the nursery or the kids aged Oceaneer Club or you can register once on board your ship. Registration begins on Embarkation Day and takes place throughout the cruise.

Both children and parents must check in at the front desk for the Oceaneer Club. During this time, parents will fill out final paperwork and children will receive a Disney Cruise Line Youth Activities wristband, which grants them access to the club. Parents are also invited to tour the facility, meet the counselors and learn more about the many activities offered.

No registration is needed for Vibe or Edge only for kids wanting to participate in the Oceaneer Club and Lab.

Vibe sign on disney cruise

  • ages 14 to 17

Vibe is the hangout for teens! While it is a teens-only hangout, there are Disney Cruise Line counselors present but they definitely give teens their space.

The Vibe experience will look a bit different on each ship but the idea is the same to give teens the space to feel unrestricted and comfortable. Most Vibe clubs on each ship include:

  • Multiple flat-screen TVs
  • Video games
  • Board games
  • Tablets
  • Arcade games
  • Dance floors/karaoke machines
  • DJ area so teens can spin and mix music
  • Coffee bar serving a wide selection of beverages, including fruit smoothies and more.

On the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy, Vibe includes its own exclusive sundeck that is only accessible to teens. The space features chairs and chaise lounges for tanning and splash pools, pop jets, and misters. The deck area also includes games like ping–pong, foosball and “old school” board games set on a giant checkerboard floor.

My 14 year old son had a blast making friends at the Vibe on our Disney Cruise on the Disney Dream. At first he was a bit hesitant and worried it would be “cheesy” but once he went, he never wanted to leave. During our cruise he made a ton of friends, played video games, and enjoyed their private sun deck.

The Vibe stayed open often until 1AM which my son loved. These clubs do give teens a sense of independence, especially since they have the freedom to come and go, that they really enjoy. He told me stories of how they played shuffle board, got ice cream, sang karaoke, and swam all night long. It was such a great experience for him!

The Hideaway- NEW Club for Teens/Young Adults

Disney Hideaway

  • Recommended for ages 18 to 20

The Hideaway is currently only available on the Disney Wish but this club features a third space for older teens and young adults.

The Hideway includes a dance floor and DJ booth in a retro-inspired space. This is a nice offering for teens and young adults are in that in between age on a Disney Cruise Ship. The Hideway can even be reserved by guests which is a neat feature.
