Disney On Ice is a themed ice skating performance that takes place at ice arenas around the country. Disney On Ice is always offering different shows like performances featuring characters of Frozen, Encanto, Disney Princesses, and Mickey Mouse. Disney On Ice is also good at rotating these shows for different areas so you can see the performance more than once and get a new show every time. Disney On Ice tickets can get pricey so it's wise to look for discounts.

Disney On Ice is produced by Feld Entertainment's Ice Follies And Holiday on Ice, Inc. under agreement with The Walt Disney Company. Disney On Ice features the option for character meet and greets, themed Disney merchandise, and special seating for kids to get close to the action.

I have been to Disney On Ice multiple times and has seen a few variations of the performance. We are lucky to have a great ice skating arena locally and I am also a mom that is always looking for discounts and coupons. Let's get into all the best discount Disney On Ice tickets!

Disney On Ice Current Shows

Disney On Ice is often debuting new shows at the beginning of each year. Currently, the newest show features Frozen and Encanto which has already been a hit with any guests- adults and children alike.

All of these shows will have a primary focus on a few different films but all shows will still include appearances from Mickey & Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, and other classic Disney characters.

Frozen and Encanto

The newest and most popular Disney On Ice show features storytelling from the hit films Encanto and Frozen. This show offers the chance to purchase an additional meet and greet with Elsa and Mirabel before the performance.

Find Your Hero

Find Your Hero highlights the stories of Encanto and Beauty the Beast among other popular Disney characters like Moana. This show offers the chance to purchase an additional meet and greet with Moana before the performance.

Into The Magic

Into The Magic highlights the stories of Coco and Tangled among other popular Disney classics and characters like Moana. This show offers the chance to purchase an additional meet and greet with Anna and Elsa before the performance.

Mickey's Search Party

Mickey's Search Party features a wide variety of different character stories including Moana, Coco, Aladdin, Toy Story, and Frozen. There isn't currently a meet and greet advertised for Mickey's Search Party.

Magic In The Stars

Magic In The Stars features a wide variety of different character stories including characters from Encanto and Pixar plus callouts to individual favorites like Princess Tiana and Aladdin. This show offers the chance to purchase an additional meet and greet with Elsa and Mirabel before the performance.

What Is The Right Age for Disney On Ice? 

This can be a tricky question to answer since Disney On Ice appeals to many groups especially Disney adults.

During my experience at the shows I have seen many adults (including college aged adults since I live in a college town) attending with full Disney gear on and Minnie ears. But overall, the majority audience primarily is those with children around ages 10 and under. Some kids may outgrow the appeal of Disney On Ice even earlier than 10 so this just varies depending on the child. We always see a wide variety of genders at Disney On Ice so it doesn't appeal to just girls, boys love Disney On Ice as well. Although you will see lots of little girls dressed up in Disney Princess dresses which is a pretty cute sight to see!

My son had outgrown Disney On Ice by age 10 and I think what kept him interested until that age was our frequent Disney trips so we already had a bit of a connection to Disney. Attending Disney On Ice felt like a nice way to get our Disney fix until the next vacation.

Now if I try to drag him to Disney On Ice, I do have to supply him with a never ending supply of snacks to ensure his cooperation. Good thing for Disney fans is that the Disney On Ice snacks are fun including many novelty souvenirs similar tow hat you'd see at the Disney Parks but perhaps not as appealing as the Disney popcorn buckets. We often see stands selling authentic Dole Whips at our venue which is a fun thing to see.

What Age is Free for Disney On Ice?

The only free age for Disney On Ice is for children under two years old and they need to sit on a parent's lap. Every child ages two and older will require their own ticket. Disney On Ice's key demographic is children ages two through ten so this makes sense. All toddlers will need to have a ticket. 

Disney On Ice Ticket Prices

Ticket prices for Disney On Ice tend to vary based on the performance. Newer and more popular performances will have a higher price tag than older and repeat shows. All tickets will be purchased directly from the venue and the links on the Disney On Ice website will take you to those venues.

Here's an example of pricing for a few of the shows for this year.

Encanto & Frozen – Tampa, FL

• $125-100- front row seating, seating next to the ice
• $55-70- mid-venue seating
• $35-25- back row seating

Mickey's Search Party – Loveland, CO

• $90-$75- front row seating, seating next to the ice
• $30-27- mid-venue seating
• $25- back row seating

Notice the difference in prices between these two shows. Part of this is also impacted by the venues and the size of the towns. Smaller towns with smaller venues (Loveland) will have lower prices overall. These areas also don't often see the bigger shows (like Encanto and Frozen) so that is something to keep in mind. More popular Disney On Ice shows will often play the larger cities (like Tampa) so prices will increase at those larger venues.

Every time I have seen Disney On Ice it's been at a smaller venue and with ticket fees our prices averaged around $40 per person. This is for regular seating about halfway back from the stage. I am fortunate to have a small venue near me that uses an independent ticket platform instead of Ticketmaster so this increases my savings. But if I were to travel to a larger venue, I would likely pay a higher cost. 

Disney On Ice Character Interaction Prices

During select tours, Disney On Ice guests can add on character experiences that include a dance party, crafting and interactive time with the characters. These typically take place prior to the start of the show. 

Most recent character experiences have included Mirabel, Elsa, Anna, Moana but in years past we've seen traditional characters like Mickey and Minnie Mouse.

The average cost to add on a Disney On Ice character interaction is about $55 per person. This is in addition to your regular Disney On Ice ticket. 

Is Disney On Ice Worth It?

Like most questions of worth for experiences, this answer can be subjective. In the case of Disney On Ice, I absolutely think it's worth it as these shows feature so many different special effects, stunts, and impressive performances from the ice skaters. Our first show I attended I did not have large expectations and found myself totally surprised by the talent of the performers. If you have ever seen a show at Disneyland or Walt Disney World, this provides a similar caliber of experience. 

For instance, at our first Disney On Ice show we saw Rapunzel fly through the air on her hair as she sang “I See The Light” on aerial straps. There are many different aerial acrobatics in the show including fog and fire effects. This is a show that adults can appreciate along with kids. I felt the experience was worth it! And if you have smaller children, seeing them amazed at all the different stunts and characters is worth every penny. It's one of the more affordable Disney experiences (at least, before you spend money on snacks and souvenirs) compared to the others. 

How Long is Disney On Ice?

Disney On Ice shows are usually around two hours long with a break in between. The length of the show along with the middle break is the perfect amount of time to enjoy the performances although it is likely the maximum for most small children to sit still. 

This is an exciting show to experience and usually most kids are captivated by what is happening on the ice so the duration of the show doesn't always appear to be an issue.

This newsletter will often send subscribers a discount code leading up to events in their area. In the past, I've received discount codes of around 15% off tickets which has been a great way to save money on Disney On Ice tickets.

The Disney On Ice insider list will also receive targeted discounts throughout the year. In December 2023, we received an email offering up to 35% off Disney On Ice shows for the following year. In this particular promotion, Encanto and Frozen was excluded.

So my number one tip to getting discount Disney On Ice tickets is to sign up for the newsletter. Watch your email for discounts throughout the year, this is the best way to get savings.
