Disney announced earlier this year that Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom would be getting a major overhaul that would introduce some significant updates and new additions! We now have the closing date for this attraction for work to begin on the upgrades later this summer.

Buzz Lightyear Ride Closing Date
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin in Magic Kingdom will be closing starting August 4, 2025, so that work can begin on the new upgrades coming to the attraction. The ride is expected to reopen next year in 2026. The overhaul of this ride will introduce a new show scene, updated ride vehicles, and gameplay enhancements.
The enhanced ride vehicles will have a new look, new video monitors with real-time scoring updates and other features, and enhanced handheld blasters that will help visitors to better see where they're aiming. The static Z targets will also be upgraded with new technology that will cause them to react and light up when hit. The new scene in the ride features a new character called “Buddy,” the “support-bot” who will help make sure Space Rangers are prepared for their mission.
