Disneyland Making Positive Change to Best Fantasmic! Dining Package

There have been some significant changes to the Fantasmic! dining package scene since the show returned following its year-long hiatus. The dining package at Rancho Del Zocalo Restaurante took the spot of the cheapest option at the former Hungry Bear Restaurant, and the Blue Bayou dining package was replaced by Cafe Orleans as the package with the best centered view.

Now, some more interesting changes are about to come into play for what is currently Disneyland’s best Fantasmic! dining package. We will break all of this down below…

Changes to Fantasmic! Dining Package

Currently, there are two “premium” dining packages offered for “Fantasmic!”. One is the seated viewing from River Belle Terrace, where you can watch the show from your table on the restaurant’s outdoor terrace. While this experience is undoubtedly very popular, we don’t necessarily consider it to be the “best” dining package because your view is a little limited from this area.

The “best” dining package is at Cafe Orleans, which gives you access to seating right in the center of the viewing area between the Rancho del Zocalo and standard River Belle Terrace packages. This viewing area was previously for those who had the Blue Bayou dining package. Right now, guests who are dining at Cafe Orleans can upgrade to this “premium” package during their visit by letting their host or server know they’d like the package upon arrival in person, but with a new change incoming, they will be able to book the package ahead of time.

Bookings will begin on May 1 for this change, which will go into effect starting May 23 and make this a “standard” dining package. Guests will be able to book the package on the Disneyland app or Disneyland.com, which will be a positive change, as they won’t have to wait until they’re in person to book. The pricing does not appear to be changing. Even though the name of the package is changing, this is still the best viewing area available for the show.

Though the menus are always evolving, the menu remains very similar to what has been offered as part of this existing experience. Here’s the menu:

We were sad to see the Blue Bayou Fantasmic! dining package go away, as this was a great way to enjoy a signature dining experience and enjoy the best viewing for this popular nighttime spectacular. That being said, Blue Bayou is one of the most highly-demanded dining experiences at the resort on its own without the dining package, so the switch to another restaurant makes sense.

Now that this version of Cafe Orleans Fantasmic! dining package can be booked online we are curious to see how fast the reservations here book out. We expect demand to be very high here because of the prime show viewing that comes with a seat booked here.
