Best Shoes for Disneyland 2024 – TESTED Favorites You Should Consider!

One thing that is undeniable about a day at Disneyland is how much walking you’ll do. Guests can easily rack up thousands and thousands of steps in a single day. Due to this, it’s very important that you carefully consider the best shoes to wear to Disneyland.

Our team, along with readers like you, have put together a list of shoes that we recommend wearing to Disneyland. These shoes we recommend for Disneyland will provide comfort, support, and durability for long days at the park. When you’re trying to make the most of your day at Disneyland, you don’t want to be slowed down by blisters, aching feet, and sore legs.

In this article, I’m going to you through these different best shoe brands and explain how each one is ideal for a lot of Disney walking. I’ll also include details such as available sizing, styles, color options, and prices! As someone who has personally walked many steps at Disneyland, I look forward to providing you with all the information on the best shoes for Disneyland so you can experience the most comfortable parks day.

Shoes For Disneyland

Before we get started, I do want to establish that this article is simply giving recommendations based on personal experience and positive reviews of these particular shoes. However, if you have shoes that you are extremely comfortable in and they aren’t on this list, by all means, wear those! At the end of the day, you know what shoes work for you and provide you with the most support and comfort for a long day of walking.

Shoes That We DON'T Recommend For Disneyland

There are two types of shoes that we don’t recommend  for a full day of walking at Disneyland. While these shoes may be acceptable for short periods of times, certain events, or situations, we find that neither one of these seem to be a good idea for a full day in the parks.

NOT Recommended

  • Flip Flops
  • High Heels

Old Navy Flip Flops
Steve Madden Heels

These styles aren’t recommended simply due to their lack of support. If you were to wear either of these for a full day of walking around the parks, you’re most likely going to increase your risk of blisters, foot aches, back pain, and other body soreness.

However, we do understand that there may be times when you might want to bring a pair of flip flops or high heels along for certain reasons. You may only plan on being in the parks for a short period of time. Perhaps you want to wear your flip flops for a water ride so you aren’t left walking around in soggy socks and shoes. Maybe you want to wear high heels with a particular outfit for special pictures or a nice restaurant dinner at Disneyland. Whatever your reasoning, if you do wear high heels or flip flops to Disneyland, we recommend that you bring an additional pair of shoes with you just in case you need to give your feet a break.

What to Do If You Get a Blister

If you do happen to get a blister from your shoes during your trip, and you don’t have any products with you, head to First Aid! You can find First Aid locations at Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney District. The Cast Members at First Aid will be able to provide you with antibiotic ointment and bandages to help assist with your current blister as well as to protect you from any further friction. We suggest this in our Disneyland packing list.

Athletic Shoes

Shoes that are designed for athletes are made specifically for physical activities. These shoes tend to be lighter, while also being well-cushioned and supportive. Athletic shoes are great for long days at Disneyland due to the fact that you will be doing LOTS of walking and a great deal of physical effort will be used throughout the day.

On Running Shoes

On Cloud 5 shoes

The shoe that received the most recommendation is the On running shoe. More specifically, the Cloud 5. On Cloud shoes are equipped with a special cushioning system called CloudTec. CloudTec is specifically made to absorb the impact of the foot hitting the ground. This system provides the ability to land softly and then come back with a powerful take off. In return, these shoes create less strain, making them a great shoe for running and walking.

Members of our Mickey Visit team wear On Cloud running shoes to the parks often and swear by them. Even our Mickey Visit founder, Gavin, wears these shoes to Disney! When we reached out on Facebook to ask what shoes our readers like to wear to Disneyland, On Cloud shoes were a top response!

“On!!!” – Sarah D.

“I love my OnClouds!!” – Lexi H.

“On cloud runners!” – Leighann M.

“On clouds! ” – Reyes A.

“OnCloud Novas. For the first time I could get through a Disneyland day without my feet hurting.” – Carol M.-E.

HOKA

“Hoka! Like walking on a cloud.” – Chanda K. B.

“I'm 6'4″ and 280lbs. Hokas work best for me.” – Brian D.

“Love my Hokas!” – Michele E. R.

Another shoe that’s very popular amongst our readers are HOKA shoes. Within the responses, the HOKA brand was brought up over and over again. HOKA shoes are known for their extra cushioning. Due to the design of the shoe, HOKA is a great option for those who are walking for long periods of time, such as Guests at Disneyland!

Besides the purpose of comfort, the extra cushioning is also in place to act as a shock absorber, resulting in less pain in the foot. The form of the shoe also benefits the foot by not allowing it to move around. This is achieved by a frame that secures both the foot and heel.

A specific style of the HOKA brand that our readers seem to love is the Hoka Bondi. The latest version of this shoe is the Bondi 8. This shoe has extra cushy comfort that is very beneficial to runners. However, the extra comfort does make it a bit heavier for runners and less durable. This shoe is more so designed for long runs and recovery runs, not for intense training. Even so, this shoe is PERFECT for walking around Disneyland. The Hoka Bondi will provide all day comfort with its breathable mesh upper, padded collar, EVA foam midsole, and memory foam.

  • Men’s

    • Size 7-16 (Including half sizes)

Another HOKA shoe that we recommend is the Clifton 9. Unlike the Bondi, the Clifton 9 is equipped with the cushiony comfort while remaining lightweight. Hoka Bondi shoes are both flexible and breathable. The design of the shoe allows for an easy push back off of the ground, creating less effort and strain from those wearing them. This shoe is also more durable for intense running. Due to its comfort, support, and sustainability, the Clifton 9 is a great option for a park shoe.

Brooks

Brooks is another shoe that boasts comfort and support. Both runners and podiatrists are big fans of this shoe brand. These lightweight shoes are both flexible and firm. Even with their light appearance a feel, these shoes are also very cushioned, which is where the comfort comes into play. There are two types of Brooks shoes that we recommend here at Mickey Visit: Addiction Walker 2 and Glycerin GTS 20.

The Addiction Walker 2 is available in either a laced style or velcro. There are also 3-4 widths available to choose from. This is perfect for those who have naturally wide feet or those whose feet have a tendency to swell. The leather upper and the arch of the Addiction Walker 2 provide tremendous support. These shoes also have removable insoles as well as BioMoGo DNA midsoles which provide underfoot cushioning, comfort, and support.

Brooks Addiction Walker 2 shoe

These shoes are specifically made for walking. From strolls, to short walks, to long walks, these shoes will do the trick! They’re an excellent option for a long day of walking at Disneyland. Their slip-resistant tread would also make it nice for walking around on slippery surfaces on wet days.

The Glycerin GTS 20 is more of a standard tennis shoe that provides quality comfort and care for feet during walks. This shoe is lightweight, breathable, cushioned, and supportive. The lightweight breathability comes from the mesh that the upper is made out of. Within the shoe, you’ll find comfort from the cushioning around the collar and tongue. Not only are these shoes great for walking and running, they are also ideal for those who need a good shoe for standing all day. Those who have been to Disneyland, know that you’ll be on your feet a lot throughout the day!

When we asked for opinions from our readers, there were many comments about Brooks Ghost shoes!

“Brooks Ghost Max!” – Elysha C.

“Brooks Ghost II all the way” – Brandon J.

Currently, the most recent style of Brooks Ghost shoe is the Ghost 15. However, on the Brooks website, they are currently taking pre-orders on their Ghost 16. The Ghost’s popularity comes from its ultimate comfort and durability. These shoes essentially form to your foot. The 3D Fit Print helps these shoes fit as securely as they possibly can. Other features include full-length DNA LOFT v2 cushioning, a segmented crash pad underfoot, and a breathable mesh upper. You’ll forget that you have these shoes on even after a long day of walking!

Adidas

One of the most popular shoe brands that you’ll find on this list is Adidas. Adidas provides shoes for everyday use, athletic shoes, sandals, slides, and even clothing attire. Multiple members of our team, as well as many of our readers, wear Adidas shoes to Disneyland. While Adidas has many different styles of shoes that would be great for long days of walking around Disneyland, we’re going to specifically focus on CloudFoam Pure and Ultraboost.

So far in this article, I’ve talked about plenty of shoes that are lightweight. However, Adidas Cloudfoam Pure shoes take the word lightweight to the next level. Even though these shoes are extremely light, they do still provide comfortable cushioning! This is made possible by the Cloudfoam cushioning that is used. Comfort is brought to this shoe with a springy memory foam sockliner. The knit uppers on these shoes are also extremely soft and flexible.

Adidas Cloudfoam Pure 2.0 shoe

The Cloudfoam Pure by Adidas may be one of the most comfortable athletic shoes on our list so far. It’s also one of the most affordable! With multiple versions of this shoe, Adidas’ most recent version is the Cloudfoam Pure 2.0.

This particular shoe is extremely low in stock on Adidas’ website. You can set an alarm to be notified of restocks, or you can consider shopping on Amazon for better availability and options!

Another Adidas shoe that we think would be great for walking around Disneyland is the Adidas Ultraboost. Adidas’ Ultraboost shoe comes in MANY different styles. They even have Ultraboost Golf Shoes and Ultraboost Baseball Cleats! Other variations include Ultraboost 1.0, Ultraboost Speed, and Ultraboost Light. There’s even different variations within those variations. Even though there are so many different versions, and many that would be useful at Disneyland, we’re going to focus on the Ultraboost Light.

Adidas Ultraboost Light shoe

The bottoms of these shoes are reinforced with Continental Rubber which provides an exceptional grip on a multitude of surface types. Whether you’re experiencing rain or shine at Disneyland, you won’t have to worry about slipping in these shoes. These shoes are referred to as Light due to the fact that they’re made with 30% lighter BOOST material. BOOST material is made up of tiny capsules that work together to bring out the most energy within your walk or run. The upper on Ultraboost Light shoes is made with Primeknit and FORGED technology. This gives the shoe a sock-like fit and helps it not to move around or slip. As another great athletic shoe that’s lightweight, comfortable, and efficient with your body’s energy, this shoe is without a doubt a great option for Disneyland.

ASICS

The last athletic shoe that we’re going to recommend  for days at Disneyland are ASICS shoes. Specifically their Gel-Nimbus 25. These shoes are specifically designed with comfort in mind. Your foot will not only be comfortable in these, but it will also be protected. Made for long and short runs, the Gel-Nimbus 25 has ultimate impact protection.

ASICS Gel-Nimbus 25 shoe

The comfort of these shoes comes from the knit tongue and collar as well as enhanced cushioning such as the full-length FF Blast PLUS ECO technology and rearfoot PureGEL technology. The cushioning that is used within these shoes is more responsive which creates a better running experience. The technology of these shoes makes them ideal for all-day comfort at Disneyland.

Comfort Shoes

The shoes that are in this category are ones that are considered to be shoes for everyday use. While some of these brands make athletic shoes, they’re not considered an athletic brand overall. These brands are all VERY popular amongst our readers. Take a look at these comfortable shoe brands and see what our readers have to say about them for days at Disneyland!

Vans

“My husband and I both wore slip on vans for two intense Disney days and my feet were great.” – Coralie-B. F.

“Vans all day!” – Ashley B.

“Vans old skool” – Romeo J. B.

The Vans brand is known to be great for walking. While being both stylish and comfortable, Vans are a great shoe option for all day use. The way the shoe is designed makes them very durable. Due to the flexibility of the canvas and the thick, rubber soles that these shoes feature, these shoes are great candidates for walking around all day at Disneyland.

Disney has even partnered with Vans to make shoes! Currently, on the Vans website, you can find 100 Years of Disney, Mickey Mouse, Stitch, Disney Princess, and Minnie Mouse  shoes in the Disney X Vans collection. Vans shoes come in many different styles and colors. Their Classic Slip-On shoes are priced at $60 with their Old Skool style costing $70-$75.

Our reader, Carla M., is a fan of the Vans brand as well as the next brand that we're going to look at.. Crocs!

“Vans girlie here! Crocs too somedays” – Carla M.

Crocs

Many of our readers recommended Crocs for a day at Disneyland simply based on the comfort that they provide. While Crocs aren’t necessarily designed for everyday use and the low arches in them don’t make them very supportive, they are a good alternative to flip flops. Even though Crocs don’t have very high arches, they are a better alternative than flip flops which are completely flat. They are also more protective due to the fact that they aren’t open toed. Even though it’s not something that we enjoy, it’s not uncommon for feet to accidentally get stepped on or rolled over by a stroller in the parks.

While Crocs do have a line of water resistant shoes, I would recommend the standard Croc that has the holes in them. While the others are clearly water resistant, if water does happen to get in them, there’s no way for that water to escape. Your best bet is to wear the Crocs with holes in them to Disneyland. If you enjoy a water ride or get caught in the rain while wearing Crocs that have holes in them, the water will be able to escape. The inside of the shoes will be able to dry off faster and not keep your feet wet and soggy all day. This is also something to consider when thinking about sweaty feet!

Like Vans, Crocs has also partnered with Disney to make many different Disney-themed shoes. Their most recent Disney pairs were Buzz Lightyear and Woody, both of which feature Andy’s iconic signature on them! Another very popular pair of Disney Crocs is the Lightning McQueen pair.

Buzz Lightyear Crocs

The price of Crocs hovers around $50-$60 for the standard clog, but prices can vary depending on the design, color, and style.

“Crocs. All day long!!” – Jenna J.

“My daughter chose Crocs over her hokas.” – Megan B.

“I tried all my sneakers the last trip, but I had so many blisters. I bought some Crocs and they are the best.” – Chaundra W.

“Crocs all the way. So comfortable!” – Vicky M.

“Wore Crocs last trip and had no issues. Trip before wore tennis shoes and had blisters” – Melissa R.

SKECHERS

Another brand that received lots of praise from our readers was SKECHERS. SHECHERS is a brand of shoes that has something for the whole family. Within their many styles and designs, the ultimate goal of a SKECHERS shoe is comfort and support for all-day wear.

Amongst their wide variety of shoes, SKECHERS uses many different technologies to provide the best results. You can find shoes in collections such as SKECHERS Hands Free Slip-Ins, SKECHERS Arch Fit, SKECHERS Max Cushioning, SKECHERS Massage Fit, SKECHERS Stretch Fit, and SKECHERS HYPER BURST Cushioning. When shopping with SKECHERs, you’re sure to find a shoe that’s perfect for you and your time at Disneyland.

SKECHERS Go Walk shoe

“I love Skechers.” – Leisha E.

“Skechers go-walk slip ons with memory foam. I wear them for all my Disney trips as well as my travel/flight days” – Shandra M.

“I got all 3 of my young children in Skechers when we spent 5 days in Disneyland and there was not one single complaint about sore feet or tired legs.” – Michelle G.

SKECHERS shoes are generally rather affordable. However, since they have so many different shoes, prices can range from $50 to $150 depending on the shoe.

HEYDUDE

HEYDUDE shoes have become very popular recently. Unsurprisingly, many of our readers feel like they’re a great shoe for Disneyland. These shoes specifically protect your feet from blistering. Their design is extremely breathable and creates a space for air circulation which allows your feet to remain dry. They are also very lightweight. When wearing these shoes for multiple hours at Disneyland, they will remain comfortable and not cause you additional strain. HEYDUDE shoes are priced at $35-$90 for Women’s shoes and $40-$85 for Men’s shoes.

Supportive Sandals

While we don’t recommend flip flops for long days at Disneyland, we do have a few brands of sandals that we recommend! We know that a lot of Guests prefer an open toed shoe. Especially on hot days at Disneyland! A few brands that we recommend are Chaco, Teva, OOFOS, and Sanuk. All of these brands offer great supportive sandals which is exactly what’s needed for walking through Disneyland. A lot of our readers also recommended BIRKENSTOCK!

“I only wear Birkenstocks there and I don’t even care if they don’t quite go with the outfit. I had one too many sore feet days and ever since it was Birkenstocks only. Haven’t had any foot issues since.” – Amber K.

“Birkenstocks.. Never had any problem” – Sandi L.

“I wear my Birkenstocks the majority of the time.” – John H.

Shoe Tips for Disneyland

Ultimately, everyone’s feet are different and the shoes that work for you may not work for somebody else. No matter what type of shoe you decide to wear, we have a few tips that will help make a better Disneyland experience for you.

Break Your Shoes In

Please don’t attempt a trip to Disneyland with brand new shoes. Give your feet some time to get used to the shoe and design by wearing them prior to your trip. If you want the look of brand new shoes at Disneyland, you can still have that! You don’t need to break your new shoes in by wearing them out for walks or while you're running errands. Simply wear them around the house! Just make sure that you give your feet some time to adjust and the shoe time to adjust to your foot. This way you can avoid blisters and soreness.

Come Prepared

It’s a great idea to have products on hand. Bring some bandages or moleskin along with you in your first aid kit (which we also recommend bringing to Disneyland!). Even though you can stop by First Aid if you need to, it’s much more convenient if you already have the products with you! If you start to feel your shoe rubbing against your foot, place a bandage or moleskin in the area to prevent further rubbing and a possible blister from forming.

Wear Good Socks

Oftentimes, it’s not just a good shoe that you need to consider. A good sock can go a long way as well! Multiple brands on this list also make apparel which includes socks. Both the Adidas Ultraboost and Brooks Ghost have socks that go along with that specific shoe! A reader also recommended Bombas socks to us.

Bring Extra Shoes

Rather than just bringing one pair of shoes, you can avoid soreness by bringing multiple pairs of shoes. This way your foot isn’t continuously going through the same tiresome motions in the exact shoe for multiple days in a row. The change of shoe can will bring change to the position and support of your foot. You can consider wearing a different pair of shoes on each day of your Disneyland trip or take additional pairs in your bag to switch throughout a single day.

Rest

One of the best things that you can do for your feet while at Disneyland is allow yourself to rest. It’s very easy to want to go at full speed from park open to park close. Your body knows when it needs to rest and it gives you signs. Make sure to listen!
