Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Disneyland has been closed for a multi-month refurbishment since the beginning of September. During its closure, there were a couple of reopening dates listed on the refurbishment calendar, but both of these were removed, and the closure was extended.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Reopens Early
Disneyland’s Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is reopened as of November 2 after a two-month-long refurbishment! Disney had previously shared with us when the closure was first extended that the teams needed more time in their final inspections and approvals, and that a reopening date would be posted closer to the time of reopening. Now, the ride is reopening as a surprise!

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad has been removed from the Disneyland refurbishment calendar and is showing operation times on the ride’s attraction page on the Disneyland website, with Lightning Lane Multi Pass return times available. At the time of writing, the ride is temporarily closed according to the Disneyland app.
It is possible that the attraction could reopen sometime today or tomorrow, but we do know based on this information that Disneyland is intending for it to be open now.
This was one of the longer closures happening in Disneyland Park, along with Storybook Land Canal Boats and Casey Jr. Circus Train. Disneyland recently announced that Storybook Land Canal Boats will be getting a new Tangled scene during its closure. This Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closure was a standard refurbishment, different than the longer one happening at Magic Kingdom.
