There is no shortage of great seasonal entertainment and special character encounters during the Christmas celebration at Disneyland. We now have a glimpse at new character looks for the parks and holiday character dining experiences, as well as the return of a favorite show from last year!

Favorite Show Returns for the Holidays
The very popular holiday Deadpool show will be returning this year! Last year, Deadpool and Wolverine made their debut in Disney California Adventure, then continued performances during the Christmas celebration in a special holiday show.
This year, “The Story Time with Deadpool Holiday Special” is back. Disney shared it will be “near Avengers Campus,” so we assume it will be located in the same spot in the Hyperion Theater courtyard. This show was extremely well-received and always drew a significant crowd, so we’re happy to see that it is coming back. Disney shared that during select performances, Wolverine may also stop by.

Other holiday entertainment will also be returning to Disney California Adventure, including Mickey’s Happy Holidays, featuring an assortment of Disney and Pixar characters, including Mickey, Minnie, Joy, Mr. & Mrs. Incredible, Frozone, Woody, Jessie, and Bo Peep. The two new holiday shows from last year, the Encanto-themed Mirabel’s Gifts of the Season and “A Musical Christmas with Mariachi Alegría de Disneyland & Miguel!”, featuring Miguel from Coco, will both return. The Disney ¡Viva Navidad! Street Party, one of our favorite holiday entertainment offerings, will show on Saturdays and Sundays.
Holiday Character Looks Revealed
A highly anticipated offering of this year’s holiday celebration is the new Mickey’s Christmas Carol Feast at Storytellers Cafe, featuring Mickey, Minnie, Scrooge McDuck, Clarabelle, and Goofy dressed in looks inspired by the classic Christmas story. You can see those character looks above! Some of these looks debuted during the former Disney Merriest Nights Christmas Party at Disneyland. Goofy’s special look as Marley is an especially fun one!
Daisy’s Holiday Pajama Party breakfast and brunch at Storytellers Cafe features a slightly adjusted lineup of characters this year. Guests are invited to show up in their “coziest fashion,” including pajamas! You can see all details about the two holiday character dining experiences at Storytellers Cafe here.
Goofy’s Kitchen Celebrates the Holidays! returns this year with some fun holiday-inspired looks for the characters.
In addition to these character dining experiences, you’ll also find some other special holiday characters in meet-and-greets and entertainment offerings around the resort.
At Disneyland Park, Mickey and Minnie will be wearing new outfits that put a “holiday spin” on their 70th anniversary celebration looks. You’ll also see several favorite characters, from Disney Princesses to Toy Story favorites, in A Christmas Fantasy Parade. At Fantasyland Theatre, you can enjoy fun holiday activities and meet Chip ‘n’ Dale, Goofy, and Pluto.

Over at Disney California Adventure, you’ll find some characters with holiday accessories, classic characters on Buena Vista Street in retro-inspired wintry wear, and Mater in a giant Santa hat. At Grizzly Peak, you’ll find Carl, Russel, and Dug from Up during the holidays, and in Paradise Gardens, Mirabel and other members of the Madrigal family will appear at Paradise Gardens Gazebo.
Santa appears at several spots around the resort, including at the Disneyland Hotel, Pixar Place Hotel, and Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Santa also visits Redwood Creek Challenge Trail in Disney California Adventure Park and Fantasyland Theatre in Disneyland Park, and he appears at the Breakfast With Santa experience in Downtown Disney.
