Rachel’s passion for Disney animation goes beyond her ability to bring more than 120 characters to life through water painting, as she uses a sketchbook to routinely draw new characters to add to her rotation of water-painted characters throughout the park.

Rachel’s imagination is also on display throughout her work at Disneyland, as she often provides guests with a bit of information about the character she might be drawing. “I love sharing little character facts while I draw, it makes the interaction [with guests] feel more personal,” Rachel said.

Jeremiah Counihan, a conductor on the Disneyland Railroad, always dreamed of serving in this role as a Disney cast member. “I always wanted to work on the Disneyland Railroad,” said Jeremiah.

Jeremiah even recalled an account when he was a child, where a friendly cast member asked him what he wished to be when he grew up, to which Jeremiah responded, “I want to be an engineer for the steam trains.”

Jeremiah’s story is one that shows that Disney Parks cast members can bring guests much happiness in different capacities. Jeremiah began his career at Disneyland over three years ago, working in custodial and Fantasyland attractions, before transitioning to his current role as a conductor.

“My favorite part of my role is being able to say I get to help, in my own small way, continue the magical legacy of steam locomotion on Walt’s own railroad,” said Jeremiah. In paying homage to Walt Disney, Jeremiah shared, “I do my utmost to treat his locomotives with respect, and being able to sit in the same seats that Walt sat in is such an honor.”

Daniel Lopez, a door attendant cast member at Disneyland’s Pixar Place Hotel, embraces the powerful truth that Disney magic and happiness can be experienced anywhere and at any time.

“I was inspired to become a cast member to bring joy and happiness to guests,” shares Daniel. In his time as a cast member, Daniel has donned the Mickey Hat, Mickey Glove, and many other items that have helped spread happiness to guests of the hotel. One of Daniel’s most fond memories of his time as a cast member was when a young girl who was blind touched his Mickey glove. The moment the young girl’s hand felt his glove, she cried all of the happy tears. “She knew. She knew she was at Disneyland,” said Daniel.
