Disneyland Extends Napa Rose Restaurant Closure For Complete Overhaul

Disneyland's most upscale restaurant, regarded as the “culinary crown jewel” of the Disneyland Resort hotels, closed earlier this year in April for an extensive renovation that will enhance the restaurant space and menu. Disney recently revealed new concept art for its enhanced outdoor patio space without a mention of its reopening date, and now it has been revealed that the closure will be extended. Napa Rose Closure Extended

The Napa Rose, located at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, is undergoing an extensive renovation that will introduce a “new look that celebrates Craftsman design with an eye toward modern Californian luxury and approachability.” The renovation will expand the exhibition kitchen counters, where guests can watch the culinary team at work, and update the outdoor patio seating area for al fresco dining, adding two new fireplaces. The restaurant will also feature a refined menu that will include new additions and fan-favorites like the Smiling Tiger Salad, along with an extensive wine collection of over 1,500 labels.

Disneyland originally shared that the restaurant was slated to reopen following its renovation in the fall of 2025, but an update now shares: “To deliver the highest quality experience possible, the restaurant is now slated to reopen in early 2026. More details will be announced at a later date.”

When we reached out to Disneyland for comment, they shared that in the midst of this extensive refurbishment, they encountered unforeseen issues that impacted the construction schedule. They shared that the teams are working hard on this renovation to implement these new changes and handle critical work that is needed for restaurant operations. They confirmed the update that the restaurant is planned to reopen in early 2026.

Disney had recently shared a smaller update for the renovation at Destination D23, revealing new concept art for the outdoor patio area. We think this updated space looks really beautiful, and we're hoping the ambiance is comparable to that of GCH Craftsman Bar, which is one of our favorite hidden gem Disneyland restaurants, also located at Disney's Grand Californian. This looks like a lovely outdoor setting for the evening, between the trellis covered in lush greenery and the soft lighting from the overhead lamps and new fireplaces.

This renovation is happening alongside some other updates to Disney's Grand Californian, including a refresh of all of its guest rooms with new decorative touches and artwork that will complement their existing Arts & Crafts motif. Additionally, the hotel is introducing a new concierge lounge inspired by giant sequoias, slated for completion in 2026.
