Top Disneyland Ride Closure End Date Revealed After Several-Week Refurbishment

It’s standard practice for Disneyland Resort to temporarily close classic attractions to perform routine maintenance work, but some of these closures are felt more than others. It’s a big deal when a ride that many guests consider their favorite is unavailable. The nature of Disney’s refurbishment process means that the company usually doesn’t announce a reopening date when rides close, but waits to do so until the attraction’s closure work is nearly complete. Today, Disney shared news that many fans have been waiting for.

The reopening date has been revealed for a signature Disneyland thrill ride following a refurbishment. We have details and updates on future refurbishments. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including new Disney Gift Card savings and Disneyland moving our favorite holiday entertainment.

Indiana Jones Adventure isn’t the only refurbishment project ongoing throughout Disneyland Resort.

Elsewhere in Disneyland Park, Mad Tea Party closed on the same day as Indy, September 8. The teacups will reopen on October 16, reportedly with the lanterns above the turntable replaced.

“it’s a small world” will close on October 30 for Disney teams to install the “it’s a small world” Holiday overlay, which will open on November 13. The final day to experience the attraction in its regular mode before the switchover is October 29.

Next door at Disney California Adventure, Redwood Creek Challenge Trail will close on November 1 so that Disney can remove the Villains Grove décor currently set up there for Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party. During the downtime, Disney will simultaneously prepare the space for Santa’s Holiday Visit!, which will open on November 13. See more Disneyland holiday season news.

On the other side of the country, Imagineers are busy adding Indiana Jones to a revamp of the former DINOSAUR ride at Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. The ride uses the same Jeep system as Disneyland’s Indiana Jones Adventure, but the new version will tell a different story. The overhauled attraction is called Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent and opens in 2027.
