Disneyland Resort continually adjusts and updates longstanding attractions, and not every adjustment is a highly visible change to a major ride. Sometimes Disneyland’s maintenance teams and their partners at Walt Disney Imagineering update smaller experiences by simply refreshing what was there before, extending the attraction’s longevity and improving its quality.
Disney freshened up a hidden gem park attraction at the resort, and the result looks fantastic. We stopped by to see their updated look for ourselves. Games of Pixar Pier
At Disney California Adventure, guests can try their hand at the pay-to-play Games of Pixar Pier.

This group of four activities imagines classic carnival games with Pixar characters:
- La Luna Star Catcher, a fishing game based on a Pixar short film
- Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss, substituting a basket with Heimlich’s mouth
- WALL-E Space Race, a target-blaster game
- Bullseye Stallion Stampede, Skee-Ball starring the horse from Toy Story
Disney recently refreshed the Games of Pixar Pier with new paint and targets at all four games.
Everything is looking bright and colorful. While a lot of media attention understandably goes toward big Disneyland changes like the new transforming skeleton animatronic in Pirates of the Caribbean, it’s always nice to see understated improvements to the overall guest experience in small ways, too. The Games of Pixar Pier refresh is a great example of this.
Guests use a machine to obtain tokens to play the games. Each game requires 1 token per player, and each token costs $5. There’s a winner for every round of gameplay.
If playing with only your family, meaning someone in your household is guaranteed to win the prize, this can be a smart strategy for purchasing an inexpensive plush toy souvenir compared to some of the park’s other plush prices.
The prices reflect the movie each game is based upon, so the winner of Heimlich’s Candy Corn Toss can choose a character from A Bug’s Life to take home.
