Recently, my go-to nighttime show at Disneyland Park has not been the fireworks, parade, or Fantasmic. While I of course love all of these experiences, there is one nighttime entertainment offering that has sneakily become my favorite since it first debuted last year. As a massive Star Wars fan, this incredible show immediately impressed me, and I still think it is often overlooked for its incredible quality. Even on rather busy nights, I have been able to secure perfect viewing with only a five-minute wait.
Now, we have news that, alongside the debut of the new Star Wars feature film and exciting new additions debuting on Disneyland’s weakest Star Wars ride, Disneyland has added a cute new addition to this show. Keep reading for all of the details! Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including Disney cracking down on popular offering even as demand for new releases skyrockets, and Disney World announcing new leadership after the retirement of a longtime leader.

New Addition Added to Galaxy’s Edge Show

Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge quickly stole my heart when it first debuted as part of Season of the Force last year. The show tells the story of the Skywalkers, featuring key moments from different settings across the Star Wars universe, including Hoth, Naboo, Tatooine, Endor, and the real showstopper, Mustafar, projected on the spires above the Millennium Falcon in Galaxy’s Edge.
The impressive projection quality, music, and succinct storytelling make it an incredible success. On several recent trips, when my group has been too tired to stick around for the fireworks or stake out a spot for the parade, I’ve suggested this show, and every time the response has been “What a perfect way to end the night.”

Now, in celebration of “The Mandalorian and Grogu” feature film debuting in theaters and the new storyline coming to Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run, there is a new post-show segment playing after Shadows of Memory.” For a limited time, guests can see “The Curious Child,” which depicts “Grogu as he tests his power to recall fond memories of his adventures with The Mandalorian.”

This is a very cute addition to an already great show, and adds yet another reason to carve out time for the experience. Showtimes shift seasonally, but throughout the next month or so, times are 8:45 PM, 9:30 PM, and 10:15 PM, or 8:45 PM and 10:15 PM, depending on the date. These showtimes are convenient, as they allow you to fit this in between other nighttime entertainment offerings or see the 8:45 PM show and call it a night.
I like the fact that Disney is adding a temporary element to the show, much like how they sometimes add limited-time pre-shows for World of Color in Disney California Adventure. I hesitate to muse on how long this offering will stay available, because given Grogu is such a beloved character, I wouldn’t be surprised if they kept this around for a pretty reasonable amount of time if it’s well-received.
