New Disneyland Ride Closure Added to Refurbishment Calendar

Attractions at Disney theme parks routinely close for refurbishment. Most of the time these closures are to accommodate routine maintenance meant to improve the guest experience.

Disneyland Resort just added a family-friendly ride to its refurbishment calendar for spring 2026 in a park area that’s seen a lot of changes lately. At Mickey Visit, we cover the latest Disney news, like details about Bluey’s arrival to Disneyland and a new shuttle for Disneyland-area hotels. Disneyland quietly made menu changes.

The outdoor attraction, named after Walt Disney’s vintage cartoon series of the 1930s, reimagines a traditional swings ride as a swirling tornado from “The Band Concert,” a Mickey Mouse short.

A reopening date for Silly Symphony Swings has not been announced. This matches the approach for other recent Disneyland Resort refurbishments, which we’ll share below.

Disney has not revealed what will change during the refurbishment of Silly Symphony Swings. At this time, there is no reason to believe it’s anything beyond routine maintenance. Disneyland leadership recently shared with us what happens during ride refurbishments and what Disney aims to accomplish during attractions’ downtime.

Silly Symphony Swings is just across from the construction site of a future Coco boat ride. We can’t wait for this major new attraction!

The Coco ride will be located in what was formerly mostly backstage, between what is today Paradise Garden Grill and the far edge of Incredicoaster. This area is now fenced off and work has begun to clear the site.

Walt Disney Imagineering is drawing inspiration from Pirates of the Caribbean and Haunted Mansion for the scale of the Coco attraction, and we’re excited to continue to bring you coverage of its progress right here on Mickey Visit.
