Classic Universal Studios Hollywood Ride Receiving Another Big Update

One of Universal Studios Hollywood’s most nostalgic attractions is receiving new ride updates as part of a new summer event coming to the theme park.

In honor of the upcoming film Jurassic World Rebirth, updates will be coming to the Jurassic World- The Ride including new animatronics and a major new side effect.

Jurassic World- The Ride Receiving New Sound Effect

Inspired by the new Jurassic World Rebirth film, a new sound effect will be added to Jurassic World- The Ride.

The iconic 84-foot water drop at the ride’s finale will feature a the “menacing roar” of a Mosasaurus as guests plummet down. The Mosasaurus, a water dinosaur, will have an intimidating presence in the upcoming film based on what we’ve seen in movie trailers.

New Animatronic Dinosaurs Being Added to Jurassic World

The new roaring sound effect will also be joined by four new Spitter dinosaurs along with more water geysers that will erupt to shower guests with water!

This attraction has received many updates the last five years with the start of its transformation from Jurassic Park: The Ride to the new theme of Jurassic World: The Ride in 2019. It was updated again in 2021 to add the Indominus Rex animatronic above the big drop.

It sounds like Jurassic World-The Ride is about to get a lot more wet which would put it more in line with the Jurassic Park River Adventure at Universal Orlando which in my experience can get you soaked even before the big drop. Half the reason for this is the number of water geysers and dinosaurs that squirt water at you along the way.

These new changes will debut alongside the Universal Mega Movie Event which will take place June 13 through August 10, 2025 at Universal Studios Hollywood. There is no word yet on any closures for Jurassic World-The Ride ahead of these updates.
