Epic Universe Now Open
All the rage at Universal Orlando this summer is the opening of its brand new theme park Epic Universe which opens May 22, 2025. This new theme park offers some great rides featuring Harry Potter, Universal Monsters, and How to Train Your Dragon. This will be a big draw for guests visiting Universal Orlando in June.
Gay Days
Gay Days will be hosting an event for the LGBTQIA+ community June 5-June 8, 2025. This is an extremely popular event that can draw nearly 200,000 people to the Orlando area. The celebration is typically focused on Walt Disney World but there's also days the group plans for Universal Orlando as well so you might see an increase in crowds during this event.
Universal Orlando in June Crowd Calendar
Universal Orlando may see higher than usual crowds in June due to the recent opening of Epic Universe. However, this is traditionally a lower crowd time of year for the Orlando theme parks as Halloween and Christmas have become a major draw for guests.
Epic Universe is a bit of a wild card as this may increase crowds so we might just see above normal crowds which is what we rate most of June in our crowd calendar. This brand new theme park will have an impact on crowds but I don't necessarily see it becoming more overwhelming than what we'd rate above normal crowd levels. Of course, watch out for holiday weekends which includes Father's Day on June 15th which can always draw a massive crowd rating.
Universal Orlando Weather in June
Visiting Universal Orlando in June means visiting during the peak of tropical season in Florida which means extremely hot temperatures and plenty of afternoon showers. The average high in June is 90 degrees with the average low being 70 degrees.
June is the rainiest month at Universal Orlando with an average total of 8 inches so come prepared to get a bit wet! The good news is that most summer rainstorms move in and out quickly which usually won't impact your days at the parks too much. Those afternoon showers can also help cool down the parks and bring that average high temperature down a few degrees making the rest of the day a bit more bearable.
Regardless, you should be prepared for hot, humid, and rainy weather when visiting Universal Orlando in June.
What to Wear and Pack for Universal Orlando
One of the most frequently asked guest questions is: what should I wear to Universal Orlando? Always check the weather leading up to your trip. June is the beginning of the hottest months of the year in Orlando so you should dress accordingly for heat. Wear clothes that are comfortable in hot weather and can easily adapt to deal with sudden rain. Bringing a rain poncho to the parks with you this time of year is crucial so you can still enjoy the park if it does suddenly rain.
June brings such hot weather that you should pack for summer! Think summer clothes, sunscreen, cooling towels, and whatever else you might need to keep your family cooled off if the temperatures get high. Always check the weather right before your trip and come prepared based on what the forecast says. Don't underestimate the Florida heat this time of year- bring plenty of items designed to keep you cool. This will save you money in the long run since buying these items in the park can be pretty costly.
