According to the Orange County Register, the sale has an assortment of lost items, often including “hats, headbands, sunglasses, plush dolls, souvenir sipper cups, autograph books, bubble wands and lightsabers sold in the Disney parks,” which are mostly either nearly new or gently used. In their report, they share that “Disneyland also uses the event to unload brand new overstock items that still have price tags.” Some of these items include headbands and plush dolls for $3 each, and hats and souvenir sipper cups for $5 each, which are normally far more expensive at retail prices in the parks.
The Orange County Register shares that in the past, Cast Members have been allowed to bring a guest to the sale when they register in advance.
The Disneyland Lost and Found sale has generated over a million dollars over the past decade, with all of the proceeds directly supporting Goodwill. Disneyland has another program in partnership with Goodwill called Mickey's Attic Program, where Disneyland Resort merchandise and company assets are donated for resale in Goodwill stores. Disneyland also collaborates with the Goodwill Tierney Center for Veteran Services, which provides resources for veterans and their families transitioning to civilian life.
