Test Track has been closed since June last year for a reimagining that is “reaching back in history for inspiration” to the original World of Motion ride. The new version of the ride will feature new scenes highlighting technology as well as an all-new musical score!
Disney World had previously shared that the ride would be reopening in summer 2025, but we now have the exact reopening date, which also aligns closely with another major opening happening this summer! Keep reading for details.

Test Track Reopening Date Announced
Disney World has now shared that Test Track at EPCOT will be reopening on July 22, 2025! This reopening date will come just after the debut of the highly anticipated Disney Starlight Parade, which will be the first nighttime parade at Disney World in nearly 10 years! The timing of this works out well so that guests can experience both of these new additions when they visit.
One of the new scenes highlighting technology shows “how vehicles can use advanced cameras and sensors to ‘see' the world they drive through.” Imagineers have represented this technology using over 29,000 points of light! You can read more about what we know about the Test Track reimagining as a whole in our separate article here.

Disney shared that more information will be shared in the coming weeks about special previews for cast members, Annual Passholders, Disney Vacation Club Members, Golden Oak residents, and Club 33 Members before the ride's official opening.
There are lots of signs of activity around the attraction that signal that previews could begin very soon.
Walls around the attraction have already come down in EPCOT and planters have been put in place. This typically only happens once the area has transitioned from construction site to operational attraction. Signage for Lightning Lane, Single Rider, and Standby lines have also now been illuminated. The safety video and announcements have reportedly also been heard. The cars are also constantly being tested on the track.
Each of these things signal that we should get more information about the previews very soon. We'll share that information with our newsletter when we receive it.
Initially, we had heard that the attraction would not be ready until later in the summer. Disney is way ahead of schedule on this one. It's great to see them fly ahead on construction for a project like this, where they have made major changes to the attraction. We also know that the heavy involvement of Chevrolet, the sponsor, could be one reason that the ride has moved ahead so quickly.
