This week, December 1-8, is one of the best weeks to visit with low crowds during the holiday celebration. In our Mickey Visit Disneyland crowd calendar, we predict that most days this week will be below normal crowds. Candelight Processional Weekend, which we’ll detail more below, is one of our favorite weekends to visit because there are often shorter lines for rides while the majority of guests in the park are focused on the event.
Candlelight Processional Takes Place at Disneyland on December 6-7. The shows will be held at 5:30 pm and 7:45 pm each night. This tradition is a retelling of “The First Christmas,” featuring a choir, instrumentalists, and celebrity narrator. The event is not publicized, and standby viewing opportunities are limited.
If you’re attending during these two days and are not interested in watching the show, we recommend steering clear of the front of Disneyland Park between 4 and 9 pm due to restricted foot traffic. You should also be aware that there are certain operational changes on these days, like A Christmas Fantasy Parade moving to 12:45 pm and 3:15 pm, and the Disneyland Railroad hours changing to 8:00 am to 3:00 pm and 10:00 pm to 12:00 am.
On December 3, a new California-wide residents’ ticket offer for 2026 travel goes on sale. This new offer will allow guests to visit both parks for as little as $83 per day ($249 total) with the purchase of a 3-Day Park Hopper ticket. You can see all details about this new ticket deal and how to secure the lowest prices here.
Disneyland distributes hand-pulled candy canes this week on December 2 and 7 at Candy Palace at Disneyland and December 1, 3, and 8 at Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure. The distribution schedule alternates between Candy Palace at Disneyland and Trolley Treats at Disney California Adventure. You can see details on how to get a candy cane this year and the full distribution schedule here.
This week, Indiana Jones Adventure is closed for a brief refurbishment and reopens on December 4. This is a much shorter closure for the ride than the one that took place earlier in the year during the busy Spring Break season. You can see all other Disneyland ride closures here.
