Phones Must Now Be Put Away on This Ride

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway picnic scene

Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway is undoubtedly one of the best rides at Disneyland that takes you on a wild adventure through various cartoon scenes after a relaxing train ride goes awry. Though it's a fairly gentle dark ride, there are some parts with sudden motion where guests can easily lose hold of their belongings if they're caught off guard.

This new rule makes sense to us, as the frequent closures for trackless rides are often caused by guests losing their belongings. When this happens, it takes a while to get the ride up and running again.

We are actually surprised that this stricter phone policy is not also strongly enforced for Rise of the Resistance, as this trackless ride has a similar issue with sudden movement and the potential for guests to lose hold of items. It is very easy for unsuspecting riders to lose their grip on phones or other loose items, especially during the blast of air that happens in the Kylo Ren scene towards the end of the ride.
