Disneyland Magic Key Upgrade for $25 Available with Fewer Summer Blockout Dates

Disneyland Resort has a lot going on this summer, including big changes in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, new perks for hotel guests, and the conclusion of Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration. By design, the busy summer period is also when several tiers of Magic Key annual passholders are blocked out from visiting the parks, but select passholders can upgrade for a surprisingly low price.

An upgrade to a Magic Key tier with significantly fewer summer blockout dates is available for $25 to select Disneyland Magic Key holders. We have details on who is eligible and why Disney is offering this upgrade. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including new menu items at Disneyland and fans’ favorite hotel pools near Disneyland.

Upgrade Enchant Key to Explore Key for $25

Matterhorn

Disneyland Resort introduced a new Magic Key tier, the Explore Key, in January 2026. Costing $999, most of the Explore Key’s blockout dates are on weekends and major holidays.

The Explore Key replaced the Enchant Key. However, since the Explore Key has only been around for a few months so far, many passholders still currently possess an active Enchant Key, as their full year of membership after they purchased the pass has not been completed.

The Enchant Key has more blockout dates than the Explore Kay, especially during the summer. The Enchant Key’s only available days in all of June and July 2026 are for June 1-4. By comparison, the Explore Key has dates available in June and July for every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and most Sundays. Come August, both the Enchant and Explore Keys have availability for most Sundays through Thursdays.

Disneyland Magic Key holders with the discontinued Enchant Key can currently upgrade their pass to the Explore Key for $25. This provides access to 39 additional park days in June and July that the Enchant Key blocks out.

Enchant Key holders can upgrade to an Explore Key by visiting the “My Tickets and Passes” section of the Disneyland app. Their pass would still expire on the same day as their previous Enchant Key. This is an upgrade for the remainder of the pass membership period, not a renewal for another year of admission.

The $25 upgrade was pointed out by @disneyfoodpass on Instagram.

Aside from the Explore Key, the Disneyland Magic Key options currently available are the Imagine Key for $599, only offered to Southern California Residents; the Believe Key for $1,474; and the Inspire Key for $1,899.

All pass types have at least a few blockout dates. There is no Disneyland annual pass that offers admission to all 365 days of the year. See our full guide to Disneyland Magic Key blockout dates.

Current Magic Key holders who renew their pass for another year will receive a free Disney Dining Card.

Disney recently announced new perks for Magic Key holders, including early access to Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party ticket sales.

Soarin’ Across America will debut at Disney California Adventure on July 2 as a new version of the classic simulator ride.

Disneyland’s 70th anniversary celebration continues through August 9 with special entertainment, like the Paint the Night parade and the World of Color Happiness! water fountain show.
