During the Halloween and Christmas celebrations at Disneyland, the Haunted Mansion transforms into Haunted Mansion Holiday, an overlay inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. The overlay is up for a good part of the year, but it comes down after the end of the holiday celebration at Disneyland.
Disneyland has now revealed the dates that the ride will close to remove the overlay. Even though this is one of the seasonal closures you can always expect around the same time of year, this will still sometimes catch visitors off guard. Disneyland Haunted Mansion Ride Closure
The seasonal ride closure for Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion has now been added to the refurbishment calendar. The Haunted Mansion Holiday this year began its run at Disneyland with the start of the Halloween season on August 22, 2025. The Haunted Mansion closed on August 9, 2025, to put up the Haunted Mansion Holiday decorations.

Now, we have the closure dates to take down the Haunted Mansion Holiday decorations. While the last day of the Disneyland Christmas celebration is January 7, Haunted Mansion Holiday will stay open for a few more days. It will close to remove the seasonal overlay on January 12, 2026.
Disneyland also converts “it’s a small world” into “it’s a small world holiday” during the Christmas season. Typically, Disneyland closes these two attractions at different times to stagger their closures, allowing the teams to focus on one attraction while keeping more rides open at Disneyland.
Typically, “it’s a small world holiday” is open longer than Haunted Mansion Holiday in January. This decision was likely made because the Haunted Mansion Holiday is open starting in August, while the “it’s a small world holiday” doesn’t open until November. This changed in 2024 when Disney closed the Haunted Mansion for over six months in order to make improvements to the queue and to improve accessibility options for the ride. In that case, Haunted Mansion stayed open late into January before the long closure.
