Disneyland Crowds Will Surge on These Dates Due to Popular Ticket Offer

A discount ticket type has been generating massive crowds at Disneyland during the already busy spring break period. The crowds for this ticket are only going to get worse, with peak crowds happening on specific dates.

Let’s get into which dates are going to see the largest crowds from this recent discounted ticket, and how to prepare for crowd levels during the spring break season at Disneyland. Mickey Visit brings you the latest Disney news and planning resources, including the planned April ride closures and a new Monsters Inc themed popcorn bucket coming to Disneyland.

Disneyland California Resident Ticket Deal

disneyland cavalcade main street

The Disneyland California Resident ticket deal offered insane savings for locals. This sale was just ended early by Disney on April 2nd because of how many guests have purchased this ticket! The ticket was priced at just $83 per day for a 3-day Park Hopper, which means a 3-day Park Hopper was being sold for $249. Just because Disney halted sales on this discount offer doesn’t mean the crowds from this ticket are over. Far from it, as this ticket is still good for visits through May 21, 2026. Missed out on this deal? Don’t worry, our travel partner has the current lowest prices on tickets here.

Since the Disneyland California Resident ticket can be used on nonconsecutive days, those who purchased the ticket might find themselves in a situation to use up the rest of their days during that last week of eligibility. This is often the case with ticket types like these, and traditionally, you can see large crowds during the last days and week before a ticket expires.

Because the last day to use the Disneyland California Resident ticket is May 21, this means that week is looking to be unexpectedly packed as locals rush to use the rest of their ticket days. According to our Mickey Visit Disneyland Crowd Calendar, crowds will be Above Normal May 15th through May 21, although we might see crowd levels on May 21 rise into the Massive Crowds category. Since the last weekend of this ticket falls on May 15, 16, and 17, we might see Massive Crowds on those days as well.

But there are dates in April that may be impacted by this ticket offer ending, as it also coincides with other popular events coming to an end.

The California Adventure Food & Wine Festival comes to an end on April 27, meaning that the weekend before the festival ends, April 24-26, might be heavily impacted. I would also expect to see Above Normal crowd levels in Disney California Adventure on those dates, as many locals might use the last days of their ticket to enjoy this already popular festival.

The impact on the crowds at Disneyland has been significant from the Disneyland California Resident ticket, especially since many guests are taking advantage of the offer during the already busy spring break season. Spring break crowds often bring the highest wait times we see all year at Disneyland aside from the two weeks between Christmas and New Year’s Day.

Disneyland ending the Disneyland California Resident ticket offer early tells us that many guests took advantage of this discount. Ending the sales early is a way to control crowds, and they sold enough tickets to justify the savings to fill the parks during the period it’s valid. Disney strategically offers discounts and deals to fill their parks with some discounts driving crowds more than others.

With this deal coming to an end, the Kids’ Summer Ticket Offer will start up the next day, with tickets valid May 22 through September 7, 2026. Like the Disneyland California Resident offer, tickets can be used on nonconsecutive days. This offer is only valid for a child ticket (ages 3-9). Disneyland announced that this ticket deal would be offered at $50 per day if you buy it directly from them, but they are letting their ticket resellers sell it for even less, for $47 per day. Note that our travel partner has the lowest prices on these tickets here.

You can get these lower prices by booking through our travel partner, Get Away Today. They provide our readers with exclusive lower prices on multi-day Disneyland tickets than what you’d get if you purchase directly from Disney. CLICK HERE TO BOOK discount prices >

While this ticket offers great deals for families, it won’t draw the same high crowds we’ve seen with the Disneyland California Resident ticket offer, which is good news for guests visiting in the summer. This period of time includes the continuation of the Disneyland 70th anniversary, the start of the Halloween celebration, and the opening of some major new attractions, including the new Millennium Falcon storyline and the new version of Soarin’.
