Disney World recently announced some changes and details coming to Jollywood Nights, including some new characters at the event, including a holiday version of a beloved Star Wars character that will appear in Galaxy’s Edge for “Life Day”! Now, we have news that this character will appear during the general holiday celebration at Disneyland as well!
We are pretty excited about this change and what it means for Galaxy’s Edge, which has been limited in a lot of ways by its rigid timeline. Life Day Chewbacca Reveal
Life Day Chewbacca will be appearing in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at both Disney World and Disneyland during the holiday celebration this year! Life Day is a Wookie Holiday in the Star Wars universe, originally introduced in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special, celebrating family, joy, and harmony.

For this holiday appearance, Chewbacca wears a red robe and carries a glowing Life Day orb. We expect this special character appearance will be extremely popular on both coasts.
We love that Disney is making yet another positive move to loosen the reins on the strict timeline and setting of Galaxy’s Edge by acknowledging the holidays.
The Life Day holiday is still in keeping with the Star Wars universe, so this move makes sense and allows them to bring a seasonal element into this land that stays pretty static throughout the year (other than during May the 4th and Season of the Force at Disneyland, which are both purely Star Wars-oriented).

At Disneyland, Life Day Chewbacca will start appearing for a limited time beginning November 17, which is the official day of the holiday. This is a few days after the kickoff of the Disneyland Christmas celebration on November 14. At Disney World, he will start appearing with the kickoff of Jollywood Nights on November 8.
