Construction is currently underway for the transformation of DinoLand U.S.A. into a Tropical Americas land featuring Indiana Jones and Encanto. Disney previously shared that DinoLand U.S.A. would be closing in phases, and the first set of closures was TriceraTop Spin, Fossil Fun Games, and Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, which permanently closed earlier this year in January.
Now, another DinoLand U.S.A. attraction will soon be saying goodbye to make way for the Tropical Americas construction, and it will be closing earlier than previously shared. See details below…

Hidden Gem DinoLand U.S.A. Attraction Closing
The next closure for construction in DinoLand U.S.A. will be The Boneyard, the children's play area. This play area, designed to look like a dinosaur dig, is one of our favorite go-to activities at Disney World when visiting with young kids. It's home to lots of great activities for kids like slides, rope bridges, and more hands-on fun like excavating fossils at the dig site.

When Disney originally confirmed the remaining DinoLand U.S.A. closures, they had shared that DINOSAUR, Restaurantosaurus, and The Boneyard would all remain open for the remainder of 2025. It seems there was an adjustment to this plan for The Boneyard given that it's closing earlier than initially expected, but DINOSAUR and Restaurantosaurus will both still remain open for the remainder of 2025. No exact date has been announced yet for their closing in 2026. The Tropical Americas land in general will open in 2027, so there is still a long way to go before the land is complete.
