1. No Phones Out on Attractions
This is the biggest rule that most Disney Adults swear by. Put your cell phones away on attractions! There’s nothing worse than being caught behind someone on Space Mountain who wanted to film their reaction to the ride with flash on (true story!) or being part of the background of someone’s TikTok live when you’re just trying to enjoy a ride.

Pirates of the Caribbean is an attraction where we see this happening a lot because you are sharing the same boat with multiple rows of people. Guests who are frequent visitors are especially bad offenders of breaking this rule. Holding loud conversations during these quiet boat rides disrupts the experience for others.
3. Stop Talking Along with Ride Scripts
This is another rule of bad etiquette that has some Disney Adults judging other Disney fans! Frequent offenders are typically seen reciting the lines in the stretching room at the Haunted Mansion or during the ride pre-show at Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. No, we don’t want to hear you recite these lines or shout out “alcoholics” when Terry Crews asks EPCOT parkgoers what they call themselves.
4. Get Your Kids Off Your Shoulders During Fireworks
We’ve all been there. You’ve staked out the perfect spot for fireworks for hours, and right when the lights dim and the music starts, the dad in front of you hoists their kid onto their shoulders, completely blocking your view. Seasoned park-goers like to recommend that parents hold their children on their hip. That way, they are eye level with you and not becoming a giant sight barrier for everyone behind them.
5. Quit Sitting On Rails in Attraction Queues
Most of the line queues at Disneyland and Walt Disney World are lined with railings. When the line tends to slow to a standstill, the reflex of too many people is to quickly hop on the rail and use it as a seat. And then once the line gets moving again, it slows down the pace of everyone behind them. This is a rule that’s a bit more official, as cast members have been known to come on the speaker at times and tell folks to stop sitting on the rails.
6. Don’t Step on Other People’s Parade Blankets
If you’ve ever been the parent that’s been left to guard the parade blanket while your family runs to the restrooms, you’re likely familiar with this one. As many of the “last-minute” guests show up scrambling to find a seat, you will find yourself nearly getting trampled or your parade blanket being stepped on. Many Disney Adults plead for a bit more civility when it comes to staking out parade spots.

7. Stop Saving Spots in Lines
This is a popular one that creates tons of controversy on social media. When one person is saving a spot and is joined by a large group, this is always going to cause lots of tension. Most Disney Adults say the proper method is for that person to go to the back of the line to meet up with their group instead.
8. Don’t Stop in the Middle of a Walkway
This is pretty notorious theme park etiquette. If you need to have a quick conversation with your group, rather than stopping in the middle of the walkway, pull over to the side so you don’t accidentally collide with others.
