Each quarter, Disney hosts a livestream of its earnings call for anybody to watch. This newest earnings call will cover fiscal quarter 3 (Q3), which runs from late March to late June. This year, the webcast will be on August 5 at 8:30 AM (EST), so mark your calendars if you are interested in tuning in! If you cannot make it, Disney will archive the stream at disney.com/investors for future viewing. That website is also where you can access the stream on August 5.

It is important to note that Disney uses pre-market timing for these meetings, which is a trend it has followed for the past few meetings. This means that investors have access to news before the market officially opens, and they can act accordingly.

While these calls are heavily focused on the financial earnings of the company, they can also give some information on what direction Disney will head in the future. It will likely discuss the performance of its various endeavors, like the theme parks, cruise line, streaming services, and more. With this discussion, there may be some sneak peeks into what will be coming to the Disney company.

D23 convention center

August is an exciting month for Disney fans as we also prepare for more announcements coming during The D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. Disney is currently working on major projects in both Disneyland and Walt Disney World, and we expect to hear updates along with potential timelines.

There are two new lands coming to Magic Kingdom at Disney World. Villains Land has not received any official timeline from Disney yet. Piston Peak National Park, a land inspired by the Cars films, is also going into Magic Kingdom. This will not be a duplicate of Cars Land in Disneyland, but rather a completely new land.

Hollywood Studios is also expanding with the addition of Monstropolis, a land inspired by Monsters, Inc. It will feature Disney’s first suspended roller coaster. You can see all the details, including a walk of the construction site, here.

See everything that we expect could be announced for Disney World here.

Disneyland also has a brand new land planned. An Avatar land is coming to Disney California Adventure. Like Piston Peak National Park, this land will not be a replica of Pandora – The World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom, but will rather take inspiration from Avatar: The Way of Water and Avatar: Fire and Ash.

Taylor recently graduated from Binghamton University with a B.A. in English Literature and Creative Writing. She will be pursuing her MFA in Creative Writing from Emerson College beginning this fall. Her primary writing expertise centers around writing fiction, both novel-length manuscripts and short stories, but she also has experience with blog writing, technical writing, and now journalism. As a lifelong East Coast resident, she knows Disney World the best, as she and her family have been going for over ten years. Because of this, she has firsthand experience about what makes a successful Disney World vacation, and can provide specific insight on how changes and closures can impact the affected park. Her two favorite rides are Tower of Terror and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind (the best song to get is “September,” with “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” as a close second). She will forever miss Test Track 2.0.
